Iron Dominion
Iron Dominion scratches the strategy itch without demanding constant online check-ins. You start with a single town and grow it into a small empire, balancing food, ore and soldiers while neighbors poke at your borders. It's turn-based, so you can put it down mid-decision and pick it up hours later.
The AI opponents are smarter than I expected. They probe weak borders and form temporary alliances against you if you get too strong. That kept me cautious and made each map feel like a fresh puzzle rather than a numbers grind.
It's a thinker's game, best in longer sessions. The interface is a little busy on smaller phones, but once I learned where everything lived, the flow clicked. A great offline option if you like building something and then defending it.
