The puzzle games I keep on my phone for no-signal days
Everyone needs a few good puzzle games stashed away for the moments life throws at you: a dead wifi router, a flight, a waiting room with no bars. I've curated mine carefully over the years.
The trick is finding puzzles that generate or store enough content to last offline. A lot of puzzle apps quietly pull new levels from a server, so they stall the second you lose connection. I always test with airplane mode on before trusting one.
Lantern Hollow is a lovely slower option if you want a story woven through your puzzles. Legends of Slots is at the opposite end: quick, light, perfect for two-minute bursts. Having both covers most moods.
My rule of thumb: keep at least one brainy puzzle and one easy, mindless one. Sometimes you want a challenge, and sometimes you just want to tap something while your brain is off.
