Lantern Hollow
★★★★★ 4.6
Lantern Hollow is a mood piece. You explore a misty village by tapping to move and examine things, slowly piecing together why its lanterns keep going out. There's no combat and no timer, just you, the atmosphere, and a steady drip of small puzzles.
The puzzles are woven into the environment rather than dropped in as separate challenges. One moment you're figuring out a music box, the next you're tracing a map scratched into a barn door. Nothing felt arbitrary, which is rare in this genre.
I played most of it in one long evening with my phone offline. The hand-painted backgrounds and soft soundtrack carried me through. If you like slow, thoughtful games that leave you a little wistful, this is a lovely couple of hours.
