Simple ways to make phone games last on a long trip
There's nothing worse than settling in for a long offline session and watching your battery crater. Over years of testing games on trains and flights, I've picked up a handful of tricks that genuinely help.
Start with the obvious: drop the screen brightness and turn on your phone's battery saver. Games are mostly screen and processor, and brightness is the biggest drain you control directly.
Close everything else first. Background apps still try to refresh, which eats power even in airplane mode. A clean slate before a racing game like Neon Drift Rally makes a real difference.
Finally, lower in-game graphics if the option exists. Many offline titles default to high settings. Knocking them down a notch is rarely noticeable on a phone screen and can add a surprising amount of playtime.
